November 17 160 proofI went to Lisa's birthday party yesterday... Saw Harrison and Vanessa whom I hadn't seen in a looong time - it was great.
There was 160 proof at the party... It tastes like ass... seriously. It kinda burns too. When I took it straight, Ron called me a beast... lol. He was right there holding the camera expecting me to throw up or something but I was fine XD. Anyway, there was only one bottle so everyone just got a little to try haha. Ravi mixed it with grapefruit juice and it tasted like crap... But apparently, cranberry goes well with it.
On a side note, Dione said I look emo when I let my hair down. Wtf lol... November 09 BirthdayThanks everyone for making my 21st birthday special!
Firstly, my parents and brother sms-ed me to wish me happy birthday haha.
On the night of my birthday, Joanna treated me to some japanese food after IAG, and then Marcus came along and we shared one tokkuri of sake. The jap food was good - their beef teriyaki was more like a medium steak in teriyaki sauce, and it was really really nice.
Tonight er... yesterday night, we had our first bridge&spades @NYU club meeting. It was pretty good - about 10 people came. Not a fantastic turnout, but definitely rather good for a fledgling club. I then went out for dinner with Chase, Shyam, Neerja and Ambica. We went to Uno's, and I had some Chicago deep dish pizza and a cocktail. I can't remember the name now, but it had absolut vodka and gin in it. The waiter even asked for it to be extra strong since it was my birthday haha. It was good - not too alcoholic, and not too sweet.
Once again thank you everyone! November 03 DSTIt just occurred to me that I've to change my clock tonight because of DST. 1 extra hour of sleep!!! Ahem... I meant work... update2 mid-terms next week - macroeconomics and calculus.
I'm not sure what's supposed to be nice about burritos. I tried one from chipotle and I didn't like it very much... I guess it's just not to my taste.
Anyway, had a rushed (but pretty good) dinner earlier tonight. There was chicken ortega in Hayden dining hall today. I've no idea what they put into it... but from what I could see/taste... There was tortilla chips, salsa, tomatoes, mushroom, onions chicken, lots of cheese and... grease lol. Super fattening but it was good - finally some nice, spicy food! As usual, the rice at Hayden sucks... thank goodness for Kimmel! Chicken ortega is different from chicken parmagiana, which usually has BREADED chicken in marinara sauce, and put in sesame bread. I tried some at Mercato's (wait did I mention this before?) and it was great - I know I'm going back there some time; probably a lot of times given how cheap it is. You need only pay 3.50 (if I don't remember wrongly) for the chicken parmigiana/lasagna/2 slices of pizza and a drink, and given the dropping USD it's getting cheaper lol.
I don't think I've ever said this before, but I really like how the dining halls make sandwiches. I usually get either roast beef or turkey+ham together with lettuce, pickles and mustard in sun-dried tomato focaccia. Grilled. Absolutely wicked combination. |
